25th - 28th February: South Luangwa, Zambia

Just before finally leaving Zambia, I paid a visit to South Luangwa National Park. It is known as one of the best parks in which to see leopards and happily it lived up to its reputation.

I stayed in a lodge on the banks of the Luangwa river, whose gardens were frequently visited by monitor lizards, vervet monkeys and hippos! I was woken every night by the sound of hippos munching grass right outside my room...which they do VERY loudly indeed!

Here's a selection of my encounters in South Luangwa.
